We are continually exploring ways in which we can reduce our impact on the environment
At CTS, we use Aspen green fuels which are especially designed for small capacity 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. Aspen green petrol is made in Sweden and is the petrol predominantly used in Scandinavia in 2-stroke engines. The Aspen fuels are made from the cleanest form of petrol available - alkylate petroleum. Aspen is sulphur free and contain less than 1% of the amount of benzene found in normal petrol. In addition it is also free from aromatics and olefins. This is especially important in engines without any catalytic converters.
All waste material arising from our undertakings is returned to our purpose built recycling facility. Hardwood logs are converted into fire wood for resale and all soft wood is converted into wood chip. Wood chip is used as biomass by the electricity generating industry and some sold on as biodegradable mulch.
All vehicles are replaced regularly and part of the replacement vehicle selection criteria is consideration of fuel type, fuel economy and emissions into the environment. We also consider the recyclability of the vehicle type chosen and the likely usage of service consumables.
All oil used in our chain chainsaws is biodegradable vegetable oil and therefore kinder to the environment.
Our chainsaws have bafflers fitted to their exhausts thus minimising noise pollution. Where practical, our operatives will use hand held non-mechanical saws for smaller works.
We have a number of operatives who are qualified in the detection of bats and other protected species so you can rest assured that we wil not harm protected species when undertaking work on your trees.
On request, we can leave the wood chip on your premises so you can use it for garden mulch, saving you money on trips to the garden centre!
